Description:

The Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek is a classic Himalayan trek through the key areas of Langtang National Park. Click the National Parks link above – its has great views of huge icy Himalyan peaks, the holy Gosaikunda Lakes. The park is also well known for its populations of red panda, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, wild dog, ghoral, serow and more than 250 species of birds. The best trek  in Nepal that includes changing landscapes, peoples and views – and it is not difficult!

Itinerary:

Remember if you have a group of 2 or more we can arrange this trip for you on your prefered date during any of the available months listed.

Day 01.
Day drive to Dhunche ( 2,030 m), the capital of Rasuwa District, from Kathmandu, you will have a great view of Ganesh Himal. 8 hours drive.

Day 02.
A Gently but steep trek to Sing Gompa (3,350m.), a small Buddhist monastery, through forest. 5 hours.

Day 03.
A steep climb with fine mountain views of the Langtang and Ganesh ranges. The trail takes you up to Gosainkunda (4,380m.) – an area of small holy lakes, sacred to Hindus and a place of an huge full moon festival every August. 6 hours.

Day 04.
Trekking down to Thuklo Syabru (2130 m), a fine Tamang village nestled on a ridge. 6 hours.

Day 05.
Trekking to Rinje in the Langtang river valley. 4/5 hours.

Day 06.
Rinje to Kyangjin Gompa (3870 m) through Langtang village. This is the last settlement before the mountains and various passes ( Ganja La, Tilmans pass). 3/4 hours.

Day 07.
Rest day / Day hike – an excellent look-out can be reached by climbing the slopes immediately behind the Kyangjin. The majestic 7200m Langtang Lirung rises above the glaciers. A visit to Cheese factory completes the day. It is really a good experience to try a climb to Tsergo Ri (5033m.)and view the Langtang Glacier.

Day 08.
Trekking down to Lama Hotel (2510 m). 5/6 hours.

Day 09.
Trekking to Syabrubensi (2150 m) on the confluence of the Langtang Khola river and the Trisuli River on the road to Tibet.3/4 hours.

Day 10.
Drive to Kathmandu.
