Arun Valley – Everest Base Camp from the East. The Eastern backdoor route to Everest Base Camp begins in the lush Arun River Valley at Tumlingtar. The river draws its waters from the Baruntse and Maklau glaciers and sustains communities of Rai, Limbu and Sherpa people. From Tumlingtar we climb west to the Salpa Pass (3414m) and enjoy great views of Mera Peak and Chamlang. We join the main Everest trail at Lukla, where we arrive fit and acclimatised by our gentle and remote walk in through forests and rolling hills. A relaxing and enjoyable way to get to the main Everest trail.Itinerary:
Fly, Kathmandu / Tumlingtar and trek Satighat.
Satighat / Dingla Bazar (1580 m.)
Dingla Bazaar / Majuwa.
Majuwa / Salpa Phedi.
Salpa Phedi / Sanam via Salpa Pokhari.
Sanam / Bung.
Bung / Gaikharka.
Gaikharka / Puiyan.
Puiyan / Phakding (2610 m.).
Phakding / Namche Bazaar (3446 m.).
Rest at Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar / Khumjung (3780 m.).
